linear drumming

Does anyone know any good sources to practice linear drumming patterns. I'd like to get better at my linear fills... thanks.

Try Garree Chaffee's book. Hears the blurb:

"LINEAR TIME PLAYING

This newest book from Gary Chaffee contains his exploration of linear time playing. Advanced Concepts by Kim Plainfield has got some stuff on linear drumming (and loads of other good stuff)

David Garibaldi wrote a book on groove concepts (I can't remember it's name...sorry) and that is where I got a lot of the linear concepts I use.

Terry Bozzio's Solo Drums has some good exercises to develop this technique as has Thomas Langs's DVD

The Chaffee books have been considered the standard for a good while now. AWA the Gratton.
Garib is also da champ at both mixing lin & non-lin grooves.

If you can find the video from Chaffee, "Linear Time Playing" there is a ton of great material on there. Even after going through the books, I found it to be very helpful. Most Guitar Centers have it. It's only VHS though!
